So , today’s topic of discussion is a Rockstar’s special organ! Kudos for all those who could guess it and now let me reveal the answer. The Guitar! Honestly, how many of you, at some or the other point of time in your life , wanted to learn how to play a guitar? If not how to play it, but most of us must have always wanted to touch it, hold it or feel the strings below our finger tips. Especially when you listen to your favorite song or hum the song of your favorite rock band, so on and so forth. Hence, on that note, we can say that guitar is one of the most common fascination among many of us, irrespective of the age. Now, coming to the point, how are these random set of letters related to this trendy fantasy. Simple. The strings of the guitar are named after these letter. Let’s get to know a little more about this.

Just like one needs to know about the individual body part of car and their functioning before learning how to drive, one needs to have a clear-cut idea about the anatomy of a guitar before learning how to play it. A guitar basically has two components, a neck and a body. The long handle which holds the strings straight and stiff is called the neck and the second half that has the sound hole is called the body. The strings come under the third main component since they help in making a melody. Coming to the basic step, which is how to hold a guitar? Your left hand should be placed at the join of neck and the body and the right hand at the sound hole. The lower curve of the guitar is designed in such a way that it can be comfortably placed on one’s thigh.

Once you get comfortable with holding the instrument, next comes the magical part. Making a melody! Move your finger tips in a slow motion over the strings and feel the music. The soft sound gets filled into your ears which brings an unknown smile on your face and a wave of pleasure passes down the spine! The feeling of your finger tips over the guitar strings is a bliss. Usually, a beginner is asked to use a pick (a small triangle used to strum the strings) in order to avoid any kind of injuries on your fingers since the strings are pretty sharp. But, over the time, free hand strumming becomes one’s left hand task. Based on the kind of tune you want, the guitar can be tuned into low or a high pitch using the tuning keys present at the top of the neck. And once you understand the sync between the strings, as in which string produces which tune and which set of strings are to be strummed together to get the tune you desire for, the job’s done .

This work of adjusting and holding  guitar and soft strumming of strings helps one to get used to the basics of playing a guitar. Trust me when I say this, learning how to play a guitar doesn’t only makes you shriek in happiness but also fills you with an unknown amount of confidence. The strings turn into an addiction you never want to get pulled out off.

So, to conclude,  I would say always give in to your fantasies and hobbies. Though it takes a little while to get it executed, never give up or leave them mid way. Be it learning an instrument or cooking or painting or whatever, travel with it till the end. Dream for it, Chase it and Conquer it!!!
