Vishaka Express!

How many of you remember your first train experience? Well, I totally do. Just like any other twelve year old, I was very excited to sit inside a train, explore the compartments, so on and so forth. One of the reasons behind this was, technically it was my first time to step inside a train or even see a train for real, to be more precise. Neither did I see a train for real before this nor did I travel in a local train. Hence, 25th of January, 2012 was the day that made me feel as if I was the happiest and most excited person on planet Earth.

It was an evening train. Vishaka Express it was. Starting from Secundrabad and and stops at Vizag. I, along with my family reached the railway station at around 5 P.M to take a 5:45 P.M train. I still remember how there was every train coming except for the train we had to take. 12 trains of wait and finally the announcement “Secundrabad nundi Vishakaptnam ki prayanistunna Vishaka Express cherukunnadhi” (Vishaka Express travelling from Secundrabad to Vishakapatnam had arrived). It might sound weird but I had goose bumps all over when I stepped into the train and got settled in our compartment . It felt so unreal as if I’ve seen a Dinosaur. Lol!

Once the train started , I was stuck to the window and was literally fighting with the curtain that was disturbing my view. Poor thing wasn’t at fault, but annoyed me to level infinity that day.*Sigh* Then comes this snack and tea selling guy . His style of selling tea was what fascinated me to the core . The way he screamed “chaiiiiiiiiii” in a way that the entire compartment echoed with his voice was so hilarious.

Just like every good thing comes to an end, my journey came to an end too . But I was pretty sad. I actually gave a silent prayer for our train to get delayed. Sad part that it didn’t get fulfilled. Never the less, we got down the train and continued our day. Everyone left the station with tired eyes, sleepy face, luggage and exhaustion and I, on the other hand had a wide ear to ear smile on my face because I was going back with a new experience and memories!
